Product Innovation and Consulting Associate (m/f/x)

About Us

Scaletech is a cleantech advisory firm working for multilateral institutions, private companies, and research bodies. Our focus is on cleantech innovation and the global scaling of cleantech through transfer and adoption to new locations in emerging and developing economies.

We provide advice on quantitative market research, financing options, go-to-market strategies, and physical redesign of aspects of the product that correspond to specific demands by users in the target market. We closely collaborate with international cleantech centers of excellence like MIT. Our clients have included the World Bank, United Nations, multinational companies wishing to innovate in their deployment of green technologies, and a range of startups. As part of our vision, we are also developing a digital product, our decision analysis platform, which is aimed at supporting the scaling process.

To strengthen our international team at our Potsdam headquarters, we are looking for an Product Innovation and Consulting Associate (m/f/x) full-time as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

Product Innovation and Consulting (Operations)

• Support program management and product development across the organization by
  • being the link between the product and platform development team, our external technology partners, and clients.
  • researching key cleantech industries and their application in ‘growth markets’.
• Support the management in all substantive aspects of consulting projects by
  • solving conceptual tasks to adapt environmental technologies to new target markets.
  • researching, analyzing, and curating relevant data.
  • ensuring quality products and services are delivered on time.
  • assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • presenting project status and recommendations.
  • managing correspondence with clients.

Product Innovation and Consulting (Strategy)

• Assist relevant company strategy processes
  • Work with us in future funding rounds.
  • Create model documentation, develop implementation roadmaps, and perform knowledge transfers.
• Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Partner with (potential) clients in the international organizations sector (World Bank, UN) and private sector to understand their business and related needs.
  • Align our product portfolio to our clients’ pain points and needs.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in
  • environmental science, industrial ecology, industrial engineering, product development, or similar; or
  • economics, business, finance, social science, or similar.
• Strong experience in climate-smart technologies and other climate change mitigation/adaptation strategies, e.g., carbon pricing.
• You bring a passion for sustainable development.
• 2+ years of consulting experience.
• Experience in international markets and international working environments.
• You have already gathered working experience in a startup environment.
• You have a self-starter mentality and work conscientiously.
• You bring excellent problem-solving and critical thinking and are solution oriented.
• Excellent communication skills, focusing on communicating complex technical topics to generalist audiences.
• Excellent written and spoken Business English skills; other languages are an advantage, especially German and French.
